This winter, Alma is excited to welcome back Breakfast with Santa, offering families a festive dining experience on Saturdays and Sundays from November 29 through December 21, 2025. Guests can enjoy a holiday-themed breakfast buffet featuring a variety of gourmet dishes for both kids and adults. As they dine, Santa Claus will be cozily seated by the fireplace, ready to chat with children and hear their holiday wishes. Families can capture special Santa memories with photos, framed in a festive Alma holiday frame, all while enjoying Alma’s cheerful décor and holiday music. A new addition this year is the festive Letter Station where kids can make holiday wishes official by writing a letter to Santa. Winter White (Wine) Party
Join us at Alma on Monday, December 15 from 4–7pm. for the return of our Winter White (Wine) Party. Guests are invited to sip their way through more than a dozen Iberian winter white wines, including sparkling selections and unique fortified styles, all while enjoying a generous spread of cheese and charcuterie. Taste alongside award-winning winemaker Cristina Borrull of Cellar Piñol, then keep the celebration going with a live DJ set until 8pm. Every wine poured will be available for retail purchase, making it the perfect opportunity to stock up for the holidays. Sip & Script - Modern Calligraphy & Ornament/Envelope Lettering for Beginners
Join Sip & ScriptⓇ for Modern Calligraphy Fun!
Join us at Alma within the Hotel Zachary in Chicago, Illinois for a festive workshop of holiday fun and pretty lettering for beginners! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your holiday tables, Christmas trees, hostess gifts, gift tags, holiday card mailings and more!
Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Additionally, we will be covering tips and tricks for lettering on your ornaments/holiday cards/holiday envelopes at the end of our class time!
Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food (food and drinks available to purchase throughout class too!). Doors open at 6 and class will start promptly at 6:30pm!
Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

Cozy up this fall season with a warm cup of tea or glass of bubbly at Alma’s Fall Afternoon Tea. Beginning at 1 p.m., guests are invited to sip on a curated selection of luxury teas from Rare Cellar, including Autumn Harvest Cran Apple, Bourbon Vanilla Chai, Emperor’s Jasmine Pearls, and High Mountain Thai Rooibos. Pair your tea with Mediterranean-inspired light bites, along with new seasonal offerings, warm Cinnamon Rolls, and Apple Crumble Tarts.
